Global Account Director. (FILLED)

Salary Circa £90k + 30% Annual Bonus, Car Allowance, Pension

Job Purpose:
Rise Consulting Ltd are currently looking for an experienced and innovative Global Account Director to join an established business development team in a global packaging organisation. The Global Account Director will maintain and develop important relationships with a portfolio of large strategic global accounts within the life science sector.
The right candidate for this position will have proven commercial awareness, have extensive experience of handling a portfolio of high value Global Accounts. Will have shown longevity in previous roles managing similar high value accounts, effectively managing senior level relationships, dealt with complex contract negotiations and able to demonstrate innovative business solutions relevant to maintaining and growing vital strategic accounts within the Pharma, Life science, Bio Tech or Clinical Trials industry.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Global Account management – manage and develop critical relationships with a portfolio of our strategic customers, as well as seeking and cultivating new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for company to deliver value, strategic motivators, stakeholder management, buying processes and forecasted sales
  • Forecasting – generate and own the commercial forecast for your customers. You will work with the commercial, product and operations teams to ensure demand aligns with supply.
  • Customer insight – hone a deep knowledge of your customers’ and their markets. You will use this to guide your customer plans.
  • Commercial strategy – help develop and implement commercial plans, ensuring your customers have the right range, promotions, and marketing to maximise profitable growth
  • Analysis – dig into the data to guide and support decision making.
  • Support delivery of all projects to the highest quality standards, proactively meeting and managing deadlines with project teams.
  • Ensure regular client updates or project progress whilst managing any changes that may occur
  • Proactively alert management to client or product issues and recommend strategies and solutions
  • Develop project timelines, in conjunction with senior members of the company and the project team
  • Develop and demonstrate in depth knowledge of the market, as well as an understanding of the Organisation's Sales Proposition and the key levers of our competitors to add value and make recommendations.
  • Create and deliver presentations to senior managers and decision makers
  • Work with technical staff and product specialists where required to address customer requirements
  • Develop and maintain key account plans that identify opportunities for company to deliver value, strategic motivators, main stakeholders, buying processes and forecasted sales
  • Provide feedback to sales management on ways to decrease the sales cycle, enhance sales, and improve company brand and reputation
  • Provide feedback to company management on market trends, competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities to deliver greater value to customers by extending company offerings
  • Identify sales support requirements and work with marketing to develop improve sales tools
  • Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Performance against monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Accuracy of sales forecasting and budgeting
  • Development and updating of Strategic Key Account plans
  • Presentations and progress reports to senior management
  • Volume, Accuracy and development of sales pipeline
  • Growth of contact database of Global Key Accounts
  • Daily completion of company CRM
  • Relationship with clients and key account management development
  • Relationships and rapport with internal stakeholders i.e technical, operations, finance, supply chain and customer services
