Supply Chain Manager

£40,000pa - £50,000pa 

A hugely successful global manufacturing organisation are currently looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager.  As Supply Chain Manager you will be required to manage an efficient and cost-effective supply chain ensuring the purchase of all materials, processes, and systems in order to meet and deliver agreed levels in line with the Company objectives, vision, values and long-term business plan.
The ideal candidate will be CIPS qualified with significant experience working within a supply chain/logistic leadership role.  Excellent knowledge of ERP systems and managed MRP outputs.
As Supply Chain Manager you may on occasion be required to travel between UK sites and suppliers with some international travel.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain systems to monitor data and ensure accurate product, contract, pricing and invoicing information is available.
  • Be responsible for the purchase of materials, consumables, and services.
  • Using good negotiation skills work closely with suppliers to improve operations and reduce cost.
  • In line with quality ensure suppliers are regularly audited for good practice and where possible establish supplier agreements and review on an annual basis.
  • Set up systems to continually monitor stock and stock turnover to avoid excessive stock levels but ensuring levels meet required customer demand.
  • Carry out and record on a monthly basis stock reconciliation analysing trends and recording third party stock takes.
  • Working closely with Operations and Service centre managers, track and record movement of goods through each site in UK and globally.
  • Ensure planning delivery timetables are in place and relevant personnel notified of any shortfalls or delays that may affect production.
  • Manage the development, implementation and maintaining of lean techniques to implement and maintain efficient storage layouts that meet operational requirements and efficiency of stock movement.
  • Obtain quotes for transportation, packaging materials, consumables and services and ensure cost comparisons are in place.
  • Provide leadership, development, support and training to all staff.
  • Attend Management Meetings to review operational/organisational implications and changes.
  • Establish performance goals (KPI’s) for department that can be published across the company and reported on regularly.
  • In line with HR manage holidays and sickness.
  • To ensure the department is in full compliance with all Quality, Health and Safety and Fire regulations and that training and development is in place to meet the departmental and Company standards relating to the Health and Safety Policy.
  • To ensure all Human Resource procedures are carried out and adhere to Company Law and any legislative changes.
  • Carry out reviews with all direct reports on an annual basis, setting individual and group targets in line with the overall Company objectives.
  • To ensure good communication across the department in terms of all personnel regularly updated of Company performance and changes.
